MESSAGE TO AA (etc) members
after much thought, it has become clear to me that the revelation given to Bill Wilson in 1934 (as described in the AA book PASS IT ON) was not intended as inspiration just for alchohol and/drug abusers. it was intended to benefit everyone. to fail to understand this is a big mistake.
in addition, this thought has occurred to me several times during various 12 Step meetings i have attended recently: the 11th step, 'Prayer and Meditation' has been very much underemphasized. though all the meetings i have attended begin and end with The Serenity Prayer, and speakers often talk about their personal prayer practice, the subject of meditation rarely gets discussed.
Paramahansa Yogananda, one of the Earth's great Yogis, was living in Los Angeles in 1934, and had done speaking tours all over the US by that time. now is a good time for this connection between the two great efforts be made.
