THOUGHTS ABOUT HEAVEN n HELL

I WAS JUST TRYING TO MEDITATE WHILE sitting in the cold wind on the patio and these thoughts occurred to me.....Religions promise HEAVEN after death. Q.why? A. Earth was hellish for whoever was thinking these things. having been brought up under the Christian society, which was mainly formulated in the northern latitudes of Europe, where climate contributes greatly to incidents of disease and famine, not to mention hypothermia. Q. what about Jerusalem, Rome, Athens...paradise after death as a religious notion...?? just now i am researching 'life after death' which has led me to Plato and the realization about the ancient Greek lineage. Socrates was Plato's teacher, who in turn was the teacher of Aristotle, teacher of Alexander. Plato wrote THE REPULIC, which includes a treatise on the subject of life after death in the story THE MYTH OF ER. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myth_of_Er HOLY MOLDAVIA, BATMAN!! well, i guess Judiasm included stuff about 'the judgement' and stuff like that....?? i don't remember....THE PENTATEUCH....Genesis, Exodus,..let's not forget THE EGYPTIANS...and the BABYLONIANS.......????
